Hello, my name is Niya and I am 10 years old. I play Junior Roller Derby for Hereford Poison Berries. I skate under the name Niyalator 345.
I started roller skating when I was 5 and I started derby training when I was 8. I passed my Level 2 in December, I’m working towards my Level 3.
On Easter Sunday I played my first roller derby game. It was also my first time on a full size track, it was big! We played Eastbourne’s New Bournes Junior Roller Derby team. It was the first time junior roller derby has been played in London at Anarchy. I jammed and blocked. I really enjoyed it. The crowd was so loud! We finished in a tie, with 61 points each.
After the game I was very surprised when people asked to take their photo with me. I liked talking to everyone who enjoyed watching the game.
Thank you to everyone for your support. My blog will be about my journey to Level 3 and any future games. I have applied to Eastbourne Extreme so watch this space!
